A "Heritage Craft" may be defined as an art, craft or skill that was once necessary to to everyday life, but is now practiced more for the pleasure of doing it rather than out of necessity.
Examples of "Heritage Crafts" are:

Candle Making

Drying Foods
Embroidery
Flint Knapping
Horse Shoeing
Knitting
Leatherwork

Woodcarving

A Heritage Foods Contest will be held just before the Texas Heritage Expo begins.
This year the food categories are:
Homemade plain Cake
with Homemade Frosting
 &
Peach Cobbler
This is a Heritage Expo event only, and not a part of the regular Creative Arts Baked Goods Contest.
  • No charge to exhibit
  • You may sell your product
  • Exhibits will be inside the Creative Arts Building
  • Electricity will be available if necessary
  • Exhibitors and one guest are admitted free
  • Table and chairs will be provided
  • Demonstrate if at all possible
  • Dress in period costume if appropriate.
